Now you can use your electric car to charge your home appliances and utilities. Ford and Microsoft are on a joint venture to help manage energy demand during the peak hours. Ford is going to incorporate Microsoft Hohm electric car charging technology to optimize the battery charging process in its Focus Electric Plug-in Hybrid 2011.
What makes this system different from other electric car charging is that it has a built-in computerized system to determine the best time for charging the car battery. Usually it is your electric car that consumes the highest amount of electricity while charging than any other electrical appliances used in the household. Microsoft Hohm software will analyze the power usage in the household and adjust the system according to the rate of electricity consumption at times during the day. It will compute the best time to recharge your car to optimize the electric usage and lower the electricity cost.
And the best thing about Ford Focus electric car is that you can use it to power your home appliances in time of need as its batteries have greater capacity and more efficient in storing energy than before. If you are planning to save energy on your residential appliances, using solar pv panels could be beneficial.

After five years of rigorous research in robotics Japanese scientists have developed a wearable robotic device that is able to stimulate human feelings and sensations such as heart beat, hug, spine tickling etc. and is therefore capable of rousing your emotions associated with these sensations. The new robot named ‘iFeel-IM’ that implies “I Feel Therefore I Am” is built with a number of sensors, vibrator, motor and speakers incorporated in it.
In this world of mobile and cyber communication the aim is to convey the emotion and feelings shared via text messages. The software installed in the robot can identify nine emotions of humans including, joy, anger, fear and guilt. Once it decodes the emotional note hidden in the text message it converts it to its respective physical sensation with almost 90 per cent accuracy as the scientists claim. So, it is expected that this futuristic device will be popular among Gen-X who find texting is the easiest way of communication.

First it was ‘weak wi-fi signal’ and now over heating – complaints against Apple iPad is on the rise. After successful launch of iPad Apple Computers, positive reviews from the experts and sale of more than 300,000 iPads worldwide Apple is receiving streams of complaints from the users.
It was started with poor Wi-Fi connectivity of the tablet computer as several users reported about the inconsistent Wi-Fi signaling “fluctuating from strong to weak”. However, iPad users with the same problem can get help from Apple’s user support page called “Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections.”
But the problem of over heating can get serious especially in hotter climatic zone as iPad automatically shuts down when temperature rises above 35 degree Celsius, its highest operating temperature point. So, be careful while you are using your iPad outdoor!
