Alcatel OT-355

The Alcatel OT-355 is an extremely basic handset, but is ideal for users who want to achieve not much more than simple texting; sending or receiving messages. If you want a mobile phone to be exactly that, nothing more and nothing less, this is an extremely cheap option, perhaps leaving you money to spend on a further gadget for your other needs.

Alcatel-OT-355D Dual-sim-Phone

The OT-355 comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and trackpad, making messages that bit easier to type in, although some users may find the buttons a little small. However, this is an extremely attractive feature, especially for the price. Despite having this function, the handset isn‘t ideal for sending emails as it lacks a push email service. So, you will only receive emails when the phone periodically checks, rather than the second they arrive.

The lack of 3G or Wi-Fi on the phone means that surfing the Internet, whilst not impossible, will probably take a long time and prove rather frustrating. To be frank, they wouldn’t look all that great on the phone’s limited 1.8” TFT screen anyway. It also means downloading large emails will take an age, so it would probably be best to concentrate on simpler messaging like SMS.

The phone also boasts a VGA camera, FM radio and music player which supports MP3s. Whist there is only a 0.7Mb internal storage capacity, you can add to this via a microSD memory card slot, so there could be room for thousands of songs, if you need it. You also get an organiser and voice memo, so arguably this handset covers the more important things in life. Video playback isn’t supported though.

For a modern-looking handset, without the bells and whistles of the top-end smart phones, you could certainly try the Alcatel OT-335. It might not be the prettiest, or the cleverest, but it’s doubtful it would let you down in a crisis.

If you are wanting to view this phone visit www.dialaphone.co.uk, they might even throw in a free gift when you take out a contract!

The HTC Evo 3D

HTC has delved into the world of 3D technology with the newHTCEvo 3D– a phone that brings your photos and videos to life in the palm of your hand.

3D images are delivered to the handset by the dual camera on the back, which lets you shoot video in 720p and take pictures at 2MP. 2D pictures maximise the power of the camera at 5MP. The screen has been specially developed to display those photos and videos in 3D without the need for the irritating glasses.

The Evo will also come with the HTC Watch function, just like its predecessor, the Sensation, which will allow users to purchase, download and watch 3D movies on their mobile. The function proved incredibly popular on the Sensation, so the catalogue has been extended and now includes recent 3D blockbusters.

All of these videos, photos and movies are spread across a large 4.3” HD screen that has incredible crispness and responsiveness. The 1.2GHz processor that is packed into this phone gives it the power it needs, and it runs like a dream with minimal lag because the processor is dual core.

Surprisingly, the battery life of the Evo is not completely eaten up by its 3D capabilities. Its capacity sits at 1730mAH, which gives it more juice than most smartphones on the market today. Of course, the 3D will no doubt be pushed to the limit in the first few weeks, so the battery won’t last forever, but on the average daily use it will be as impressive as any.

Since it is one of the very first 3D phones on the market, it is not entirely in 3D, but such a function would probably make texting difficult and would definitely drain the battery in no time. If this one proves to be a hit, then full 3D phones will almost certainly flood the market in the months to come.

The phone, for obvious reasons, does weigh slightly more than its competitors, but the added features do make it stand out from the crowd. HTC set itself a high bar with the Sensation, yet the company has managed to exceed that – albeit only slightly – with the Evo. It is essentially the same phone, but with a 3D camera. As one of the first, it could either drive people away from 3D phones altogether or completely revolutionise the mobile market. Our bet is the latter.

The samsung galaxy S is one of the most raved about Samsung models to date and comes complete with a whole host of cutting edge features. These sought after features include the likes of a 4.0″ Super AMOLED display, a Social Hub, extremely powerful hardware, an assortment of downloadable applications, HD Video recording, a camera complete with flash and DNLA connectivity features. And all the above are only a few of the things on offer.

The Samsung Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy S also offers a whole host of applications that are made available to the user through Samsung Apps. The Press Reader is one application that is proving to be extremely popular and allows users to receive news directly to their handset, from both international and local stations.

Another great feature of the Samsung Galaxy S is the Adobe Flash Player 10.0, which allows for smoother performance with the Android 2.2 upgrade and optimised application loading and switching devices.

Voice commands and memos bring with them a voice control feature that allows the user to banish typing completely if they wish to do so. This is possible because the mobile phone is able to recognise any saved name or number the user pronounces and in turn retrieves the desired contact.

The HD video recording featured on this device comes with a Super AMOLED Display and allows the user to view quality HD movies in extremely good quality with both exceptional vivid colours and a vibrant display

Push email notifications are also a feature of this particular phone that allows the user to be notified as soon as an email arrives in their inbox. This is great for those that need to have access to their emails wherever they are.

2011 has already been a fantastic year for the mobile phones fans. We have seen the release of the “Playstation Phone” or the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play as it is known. We have also seen the world’s first dual core processor phone, the LG Optimus 2X and LG have announced the first ever 3D phone as well, the LG Optimus 3D.

Samsung Galaxy

It’s all pretty exciting stuff but not everyone wants to pay hundreds upon hundreds of pounds for a mobile phone. Another by product of these new high-tech smart phone releases means that the very best phones already out, go down in price. This is fantastic for those of us who want one of the best handsets but not pay top dollar and one of the best handsets around at the moment is the Samsung Galaxy S. Released last year it was one of 2010′s success stories winning admirers in the industry and on the high street.

One of the most attractive things about the Galaxy S is its impressive, and extremely large, screen. It uses the Samsung super AMOLED display and it is one of the best out of all its current rivals, including the iPhone 4, with Apple’s crisp display only just bettering Samsung’s 480×800-pixel resolution offering. The Samsung Galaxy S also has an impressive camera. At 5 megapixels it may not be as good as some phones such as the Nokia N8 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play but it is the one of the next best out of a good bunch. This is a recurring theme with the Samsung Galaxy S as it may not be 10 out of 10 in anything, but it is 9 out of 10 in absolutely everything. You get a great version of the Android operating system and all the benefits that brings, including all of the apps in the Android Market.

The Samsung Galaxy S is still an impressive phone, even held up to the phones being brought out at the moment. If you are looking for a bargain this could be the handset for you.

With more and more advanced technological features being integrated in mobile phones the task of choosing the right phone getting tougher.
